DMA Application Information

Applications for the DMA program are now being accepted for the Spring 2025 semester. All materials must be received by October 15, 2024 for qualified applicants to be considered for January 2025 entrance.

Application Schedule


Applicants for the Doctor of Musical Arts should

  • Possess a Master of Music in Church Music degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Students may be required to complete additional studies for admission. 
  • Expect to submit a graduate research paper for a writing assessment
  • Complete an Entrance Interview
  • Submit a GRE score (This is required.)


Admission documents include

  • Application Form
  • Statement of Call and Commitment
  • Ethical Conduct Form
  • Church Endorsement
  • Transfer of Credit Request Form (if applicable)
  • Personal Evaluations
  • Proof of Immunization Compliance

Each applicant for the DMA program also must complete a Criminal Background Check by following the link below, and results must be available before the applicant can be considered for admission. The background check fee is payable online to CastleBranch.

A transcript is required to determine whether leveling courses are necessary for acceptance into the degree program.
